Welcome to Blue Dome Gallery |
|
The Blue Dome Gallery is located on the corner of Yankie and Texas Streets in historic downtown Silver City, New Mexico. We are in the midst of the “art district” and several other galleries are within easy walking distance.
We have selected artists who demonstrate an excellence in craftmanship, creativity and their own artistic style. Each piece of work reflects the handprint and creative force of the artist. We are proud to personally know each of the artists we represent and happy to show both established and experimental work. We hope we can introduce you to an artist or complete part of your collection. We have great painters, sculptors, jewelers, furniture makers and glass artists and we are especially proud of the potters that show in the gallery.
Sincerely,
Linda Brewer and John Rohovec |

This Spring we will have two shows, "Coming Home" featuring pottery by Jaime Zane Smith and "Desert Exposure" with sculpture and painting by Barbara Nance. Both shows will open Friday, May 28th with a reception for the artists and continue until July 30th.
"Coming Home" will feature coiled, hand-built pottery that is wood fired. Jamie's pieces reflect his Wyandot heritage and his love of Ancient Native American pottery. His hand-built vessels are from clay and materials he has collected and processed. Some of the pieces retain their coils in a traditional corrugated pattern; some he uses hand-carved paddles in designs of pre-historic Mound Builders to texture the vessels. All of the pieces embrace both the ancient traditions of Native American pottery and his own personal artistry. The pieces are wood fired to create various fire cloud patterns and a rich surface.
These pieces are a rare treat. Jamie graduated from Western New Mexico University in Silver City and has gone on to become a star in the pottery world. His vessels are truly works of art in technique and style.
"Desert Exposure" features Barbara Nance's unique perspective on life in Silver City. Barbara has painted Mr Quail reading the "Desert Exposure"...he's checking on all the news and happenings around here. She will have other "locals' featured in other paintings too. Her new desert garden is filled with a fantasy of 7-foot welded sunflowers, prickley pear cactus, and giant bugs. Barbara has also created metal horses to gallop to your home and garden.
We have acquired a selection of button jewelry by Lori Kirsch. Lori's designs are made with vintage buttons and are perfect for fun summertime attire.
